your day to day trip

 

D 1. Paris    Departure of Air Madagascar flight from Paris. Night on board.

D 2. Antananarivo – Diego Suarez    Flight arrival in Tana. Connecting flight to Diego. Welcome in the airport hall by your guide. Stroll around town towards the market and the port. We make our way to the huge Diego bay to admire the Sugarloaf Mountain. Drive to Joffreville where we set up in nice hotel bungalows.

D 3. Montagne d’Ambre National Parc  Start the visit of Amber Mountain National Park with a local guide to this luxuriant forest, an amazing vegetation and special fauna. There is a possibility of walking down going back to the hotel.

D 4.  3 Bays by Indian Ocean   Drive around first and then walk around the bays: Dunes and Pigeon bay. Go on to Orangea following Ramena beach and the sea cliff, the gate to the Indian Ocean is close. Walk to the lighthouse

D 5. Diego Suarez - Tsingy Rouges – Ankarana   Visit  Tsingy Rouges (red). Back on the main road we join Mahamasina village where we spend night in simple facilities accommodation local house style, but with in a nice mood.  

D 6.  Tsingy of Ankarana (Mahamasina)   It is ancient coral reef eroded by water and wind and the result is a limestone formation looking like a sharp stone forest. Visit of caves and “la perte d’eau”, a huge excavation of a dried river where water disappears during rain season.

D 7.  Ankarana – Ankify – Nosy Komba    We stop to see plantation of coffee, cacao and ylang ylang, those are the main wealth of the area with cashew trees and vanilla further East. We board on a speed boat towards Nosy Komba. Afternoon at leisure.

D 8. Nosy Komba    A day free on Nosy Komba small island. You will certainly meet macaco lemur around villages. You can also join Nosy Tanikely which is of Madagascar submarine park.

D 9 & 10. Nosy Komba – Antsohihy – Ankarafantsika   A good tarred road leads us towards Mahajanga. We cross through many villages in a wide spread savannah bush. Arrival at Ankarafantsika Park the next day afternoon.

D 11. Ankarafantsika – Mahajanga   Discovering hike through the Park, Sifaka lemur is the king here. We go and see huge lavaka on the way, it is a geological formation caused by erosion. We arrive at Mahajanga at the end of the day. We walk around by the seaside in the evening as Mahajanga people do.  

D 12. Discovering Mahajanga and Katsepy    Stroll around town. We cross Betsiboka Mouth by a ferry and reach Katsepy village in the other side. Take lunch quietly on the beach. 

D 13.  Mahajanga – Antananarivo   Head towards the capital. It is a long drive today, crossing different villages as Ambondromamy and Maevatanana. Arrive in Tana in the evening. 

D 14.  Antananarivo (departure)   Walk towards the upper town to discover local architecture and the Queen’s Palace. Visit of the crafts market on the way to the airport. Transfer and fly to Paris.

D 15.  Paris    Air Madagascar flight arrival.
