your day to day trip
D 1. Paris Departure from Paris on Air Madagascar flight. Night on board.
D 2. Antananarivo Meet your guide at the airport hall. Drive to the hotel. We go walking towards the upper town; we discover and visit the old town around Queen’s Palace with an historian guide.
D 3. Antananarivo – Antsirabe Start driving to the south. We stop at Ambatolampy to discover how to make the local aluminum cooking-pot. Continuing towards Antsirabe.
D 4. Highlands hiking The walk is organized by a local association, a partnership with young Malagasy from Antsirabe.
D 5. Antsirabe – Ambalavao We stay on the road number 7 and progress towards the south.
We walk around Ambositra town and lunch in a restaurant. Go on towards Fianarantsoa. Arrival at the end of the afternoon at Ambalavao. .
D 6. Anja Reserve and Andringitra area Groups of lemurs live in a nice forest at the bottom of a huge granite rock blocks. This Reserve is run directly villagers; all profit goes to improve locals’ life conditions in the surrounding. Drive on to Tsaranoro.
D 7. Tsaranoro hiking Just so beautiful… Walk to the forest at the bottom of the rock cliff to meet catta lemurs. Huge granitic domes make an amazing sight to the narrow valley of these mountain rocks, during sunrise and sunset in particular.
D 8. Tsaranoro – Ranohira It is the road to the South, huge space world. From one mountain to another, we reach Isalo National Park massif and it is the end of the stage after a long drive, the sunset must be wonderful.
D 9 & 10. Isalo National Park We have two days to discover one of the best sites in Madagascar. We go and meet lemurs by the Canyons’ dry forest. The next day we head to the Piscine Naturelle (natural swimming pool) through the sandstone massif.
D 11. Ranohira – Tuléar Today we join the sea. On the way to Tuléar we make some stops to see Mahafaly tribe typical tombs, which are painted and decorated, also amazing carvings are erected on them. Walk around the market and have lunch in town.
D 12. Tuléar – Antananarivo Transfer to the airport. Fly to Tana (1h15). Arrival and transfer to your hotel.
D 13. Antananarivo – Diego Suarez Transfer to the airport. Fly to Diego Suarez (1h15). Stroll around town towards the market and the port. We make our way to the huge Diego bay. Head to Joffreville where we set up in nice hotel bungalows.
D 14. Montagne d’Ambre National Park Start the visit of Amber Mountain National Park with a local guide to this luxuriant forest, an amazing vegetation and special fauna. There is a possibility of walking down going back to the hotel.
D 15. Diego Suarez – ‘Tsingy Rouges’ and Ankarana We stop twice between Diego and Nosy Be to see two amazing sites; The Red Tsingy, a dried river with clay erosion. And Ankarana National Park Tsingy, an ancient coral reef eroded by water and wind and the result is a limestone formation looking like a sharp stone forest.
D 16. Ankarana Special Reserve We have the Tsingy formation in the heart of the massif rock, sharp limestone eroded by rain, wind and….time. Visit of ‘bats cave’ so bring a powerful torch to explore the best of it.
D 17. Ankarana – Ankify On the way to Ankify we pass through cashew trees, coffee, cacao and ylang ylang plantation. We reach the hotel at Ankify in the afternoon by the sea facing Nosy Be.
D 18. Ankify - Nosy Be Get aboard a speed boat to join Hellville which is the capital of Nosy Be. We take a taxi to get to the hotel on the seaside.
D 19. Nosy Be You have many activities proposals from the hotel: nautical sport (fishing, diving, snorkelling…), day outing on a fishing boat, motor bike and bike renting. The receptionist will advise you to choose amongst activities.
A hike around Nosy Be can be organized on your request without extra fee.
D 20. Nosy Be – Antananarivo (departure) Transfer to the airport after a last swim. Fly to Tana and connecting flight to Paris.
D 21. Paris Air Madagascar flight arrival.
