Your day to day trip
D 1. Paris Departure from Paris on Air Madagascar flight. Night on board.
D 2. Antananarivo – Diego Suarez Arrival at Antananarivo and domestic connecting flight. Fly to Diego Suarez (1h15). Welcome in the airport hall by your guide. Stroll around town towards the market and the port.
We join Joffreville and spend night in bungalows.
D 3. Amber Mountain National Park Start the visit of Amber Mountain National Park with a local guide to this luxuriant forest, an amazing vegetation and special fauna. There is a possibility of walking down going back to the hotel.
D 4 & 5. Ankarana National Park – West Walk through Andrafiabe cave to a vast Cathedral cave, crossing canyons to “Rivière Verte”. Further up we go to explore the “Grand Tsingy” and the “Lac Vert”. Our evenings happen around firewood with guides and porters. Nights on camping.
D 6. Ankarana- Ankify – Lokobe Drive towards the sea! We get aboard a speed boat to cross over the sea to Lokobe. We get wild camping by the beach instead of going to one of those big hotels at Nosy be.
D 7. Lokobe Relax day on Lokobe beach. Swimming, fishing and diving are the major actions, also nice walk along the beach. There are a few welcoming fisherman villages around. Night on camping.
D 8 & 9. Lokobe – Antsohihy – Ankarafantsika A good tarred road leads us towards Mahajanga. We cross through many villages in a wide spread savannah bush. Arrival at Ankarafantsika Park the next day afternoon.
D 10. Ankarafantsika National Park We walk through the dry forest looking for Coquerel’s Propitheque which is white with brown spot. Beautiful view of ‘Grand Lavaka’. Picnic lunch in the park.
D 11. Ankarafantsika – Antananarivo Head towards the capital. It is a long drive today, crossing different villages as Ambondromamy and Maevatanana. Arrive in Tana in the evening.
D 12. Antananarivo – Antsirabe – Ambositra Start driving to the south. We stop at Ambatolampy to discover how to make the local aluminum cooking-pot. Arrive at Antsirabe by lunch time and go on to Ambositra in the afternoon.
D 13. Ambositra – Fianarantsoa - Ambalavao Make Ambositra town tour. Join Fianarantsoa and go on until Ambalavao through rice fields and vineyard. Night in tents.
D 14. Ambalavao: « Granit » hike- Ranohira Anja, Anja is a small reserve run by villagers. We try to see some groups of lemurs live in a nice forest at the bottom of a huge granite rock blocks. Drive through ihorombe plateu to Ranohira. Night on camping.
D 15. Isalo National Parc Hike inside the massif with just a small rucksack. This simple walk takes us to an amazing landscape towards the natural swimming pool. Night in hotel.
D 16 to 21. Off road to the Grand Sud From Vezo passing by Mahafaly to Antandroy area, the South region is actually amongst the rare unique landscape where the trip turns to a real adventure. We drive along the coast where you deserve everything. This region is certainly the highlight to your memory.
D 22. Leisure time in Fort Dauphin It is the end of the world between desert and the ocean! Facing the Antarctic from far away. Find comfort accommodation again and get a day of leisure in Fort dauphin.
D 23. Fort Dauphin – Antananarivo (departure) Go for a walk in Fort dauphin town or market before the transfer to the airport. Fly to Tana (1h15) and connecting flight to Paris.
D 24. Paris Air Madagascar flight arrival.
