DETAILED ROUTE

For this trip, we offer this year, a west-east crossing in a spirit of discovery aventureet. In the Tsiribihina canoe and boat trips on the canal Pangalanes, hiking in the Highlands and Park Tsingy de Bemaraha,
4x4 to the alley of baobabs.
Three days of relaxing on the garden island of Sainte Marie.

D 2. Saturday Antananarivo - Antsirabe (170 km + / - 3h)
Arrival in Tana. Reception at the airport by your guide who will accompany you throughout this journey.
Relax and have lunch at the restaurant on the Upper Town.
Afternoon route Antsirabe. Dinner at restaurant.
Overnight at La Residence Hotel name (or equivalent)

D 3. Sunday Hiking and Villages (4/5h walk)
Why Highlands? Simply because it is the emblematic landscape of Madagascar. A landscape unlike any other, because of hills and ridge lines, villages clinging to the sides of brick houses with high roofs, rice fields and valleys in these colors: red, ocher, beige ...
Hiking? From village to village, in cases of boxes to meet the farmers, artisans, blacksmiths.
For our accommodation, we will be welcomed by the villagers in large renovated traditional houses. They are comfortable, equipped with beds (small dormitories), toilets, showers and dining room where we take our meals come to know our guests.
These walks are conducted in collaboration with a youth association malgaches Antsirabe. This is meant to be a "sustainable" income is in part distributed to villages. We contribute to the development of the region: to support community facilities, development of para-agricultural activities.

D 4. Monday Antsirabe - Miandrivazo (250 km + / - 5h)
Small city tour and visit the artisans and carvers semi precious stones.
Due west to Route Miandrivazo. Picnic en route. Miandrivazo is a small village on the banks of the river well animated in the evening.
Dinner and overnight at the hotel LAKANA (or equivalent)

D 5, 6 & 7. Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday down the river by canoe Tsiribihina
We start down the river to Tsiribihina Miandrivazo, installation of the camp on sandbars on the river at night. The river is wide and quiet. The atmosphere is calm.
The first day we cross the plains of various plantations of rice, maize, beans, tobacco, cassava, depending on the season.
The second day, we enter the gorge Bemaraha plateau where we could admire a rainforest inhabited by lemurs.
On the third day, we enter the plains of Berevo.
During these 3 days, canoe, bee-eater, kingfisher, Coucal, Coua and other birds will be our traveling companions.

D 8. Friday Tsaraotana - Bekopaka (150 km + / - 5h)
Our 4x4 vehicles will be there for our landing.
Wrong track north to join the Manambolo River.
We ask our camp for 3 nights.

D 9 & 10. Saturday & Sunday Bemaraha National Park (5/6h walk)
Reserve Tsingy of Bemaraha, a sanctuary of nature World Heritage of Unesco, is the largest protected area of the island (152,000 hectares - more than 100 km long and 5 to 15 km wide).
The Tsingy are true cathedrals of limestone, this dense network of faults, cracks and blocks of limestone carved in blades is one of the most spectacular landscapes of Madagascar. The formation of this massive Jurassic medium began there 200 million years, when the sea covered this area yet Bemaraha. Then this huge plate corals and shellfish was raised. Exposed to the air since 5 million years, the rain, with its work of erosion has carved the rest. Among the wonders there are 6 species of lemurs, reptiles and 53 varieties of birds. It is also home to one of the smallest species of chameleon, the Brookesia Perarmata. Accompanied by guides and porters, these two days are devoted to the discovery of this most amazing site. D 11. Monday Bemaraha National Park - Special Kirindy Reserve (140 km + / - 6h)
We take the road south. Crossing the river Tsiribihina with the tray. Continue to reserve Kirindy. This place is still very uncommon. Kirindy forest has the highest density of lemurs in Madagascar. That night we made an excellent vision.
Installation in the bush camp in the reserve or in tents.

D 12. Tuesday Kirindy - Morondava (70 km + / - 2h)
In the morning, accompanied by a guide to the reserve, we start to discover this site primarily visited by researchers on the study of the fossa, the largest predators on the island. In October, during mating, we have the best chance
be seen. Seven species of lemurs share this dry area, whose Sifaka, the dancer! Picnic in the forest. Route to Morondava, here we cross the famous alley of baobabs (andansonia grandidieri). Installation in pretty bungalows by the sea

D 13. Wednesday Morondava - Antananarivo
Just a few more hours in Sakalava country, then transfer to the airport for a flight to Tana (1:05).
The program for the day will depend on flight schedules.

D 14. Thursday Antananarivo - Périnet National Park (150 km + / - 3h)
Depart Tana morning. Visit the butterfly farm at the foot of the cliff Mandrake. Almost all the butterflies, chameleons, lizards and amphibians are represented in the country! Arrival at the gates of Andasibe National Park Périnet late afternoon. Dinner and overnight at the hotel Feon 'Ny Ala (or equivalent)

D 15. Friday Périnet - Vatomandry (200 km + /-5h)
Visit Périnet Park. The main attraction of this park is the presence of Indri indri-the largest of the lemurs. We also seek the lemur rubriventer the Propithecus diadema, the varicia varegata. The site is very rich in medicinal plants. Lunch at Antsampanana. For the newly paved road, we arrive in the afternoon Vatomandry.

D 16, 17 & 18. Saturday, Sunday & Monday Channel of Pangalanes
Built at the turn of the century, this canal runs along the east coast over 400 km of Manakara in Tamatave, connecting lakes between them. Today, this waterway is unfortunately somewhat forgotten, all products from coastal areas (coffee, camarones, litchis) now travel by road.
Aboard a barge and crew with a nice three days of sailing between the sea and quiet lagoons. Sometimes large, sometimes small, of the Canal is lined with Pangalanes casuarinas of pandanus and many exotic plants.
Kingfisher and herons, along with some sea birds, our traveling companions. We take the time to stop in small villages along the channel. It is possible to leave the boat a few hours for a walk on the beach. We cross the lakes Rasoabe, Rasoamasay and Ampitabe. Picnic lunch on board or on the beach, dinners and nights camping on the banks of the canal.
1st night to Andevoranto. 2 nd Ankan'ny Nofy, 3rd in Tamatave Joffre at the hotel (or equivalent)

D 19 Tuesday Tamatave - Mahambo (100km + / - 3h)
In minibus as we continue our ascent to the north to reach Mahambo.
We cross the small towns of Foulpointe. Mahambo a small village located 95 km from Tomasina, a village representative on the east coast, with its wooden houses and leaves ravinala.
On site, we can make a walk in the woods, swimming, snorkeling.
Mahambo is also the meeting place for surfers. As Foulepointe, Mahambo was with a strong Merina, but there were only scattered stones.

D 20. Wednesday Mahambo - Soanierana Ivongo - Sainte Marie
After breakfast, we reach the village of Soanierana Ivongo. Here we take a speedboat to get to 1 hour Ambodifotatra, the "capital" of St. Mary.
Transfer by boat on the island until the mats.

D 21 & 22. Thursday & Friday Sainte Marie
You've been in one of those little paradises like the Indian Ocean known hide. St. Mary is a calm and quiet, of course, white sand and coconut trees, but above all, full of nice people. There are also whales that have opted for warm water to come down (from July to September) ... before returning to the Antarctic. Both days are free, many activities await you there (at sea, scuba diving, mountain biking, motorbike, trip on foot) Dinner and overnight at Baboo Village (or equivalent)

	Antsirabe Antsirabe is a town very important industrial, agricultural, and also the capital of Madagascar gingham and "rickshaws", there are about 5 000 furrow shoots in the city.


	Antananarivo From the terrace of the Grill du Rova, a few meters of the Queen's Palace, you will enjoy a superb view of the City of a Thousand.


		Descent of the Tsiribihina Throughout the river Tsiribihina with red water, you will find on board the barge of turtles, thousands of birds, humpback ducks, herons and some lemurs, crocodiles rarely .. At the end of the day, flights of bats will surprise you before you join one of the many sandbars where your camp will be established for the night.


	Bemaraha National Park The Tingy are true cathedrals of limestone, this dense network of faults, cracks and blocks of limestone carved in blades is one of the most spectacular landscapes of Madagascar. The formation of this massive Jurassic medium began there 200 million years, when the sea covered this area yet Bemaraha. Then this huge plate corals and shellfish was raised. Exposed to the air since 5 million years, the rain, with its work of erosion has carved the rest. 	Morondava and its baobabs The roots of heaven you will make a guard of honor of the time you feel the eyes on 2000 years old this spectacular baobabs Andasonia alignment.
