This large loop through the country we discover
regional diversity in Madagascar. Down the river Tsiribihina,
Hiking in National Parks to see the Bemaraha Tsingy and Isalo,
visit the National Park Périnet, the savannas of the west, the highlands,
the forests of the east coast, living on the island of Sainte-Marie.

D 1. Monday Departure from Paris

D 2. Tuesday Antananarivo - Antsirabe (170 km + / - 4h)
Arrival in Tana. Reception at the airport by your guide who will accompany you throughout this journey. Lunch at restaurant in town. Road to Antsirabe.
Dinner and overnight at the Residence Camelia (or equivalent)

D 3. Wednesday Antsirabe - Miandrivazo - Descent of the River Tsiribihina
(280 km + / - 6h)
Start early in the morning of Antsirabe.
Due west to Route Miandrivazo. From here we have 30 km of track to reach the pier. lunch on board. Afternoon slow descent of the river, installing the camp on sandbars in a river bed. Apéro around the fireplace, dinner on board.
Night under tent.

D 4. Thursday Descent of the River Tsiribihina
The river is wide and quiet. The atmosphere is calm. Passengers can travel on the boat, talk, play cards, books, climbing on the roof to sunbathe.
The food is hearty and board quality.

D 5. Friday Tsiribihina River - Belo / Tsiribihina
Continuation of the descent. Lunch on board.
We disembark after breakfast on board at Belo / Tsiribihina.
We expect our vehicles to take us to the exit of the village of Belo / Tsiribihina to set up our camp. Night under tent.

D 6. Saturday Belo / Tsiribihina - Bemaraha National Park
(100 km + / - 3h & + / - 2 hours walk)
Wrong track north to join the Manambolo River.
Arriving late morning in Bekopaka. picnic on the riverside.
We are entering the park to visit the Little Tsingy.
Our camp is set for 2 nights.

D 7. Sunday Bemaraha National Park "Big Tsingy (5/6h walk)
Reserve Tsingy of Bemaraha, a sanctuary of nature World Heritage of Unesco, is the largest protected area of the island (152,000 hectares - more than 100 km long and 5 to 15 km wide).
The Tsingy are true cathedrals of limestone, this dense network of faults, cracks and blocks of limestone carved in blades is one of the most spectacular landscapes of Madagascar. The formation of this massive Jurassic medium began there 200 million years, when the sea covered this area yet Bemaraha. Then this huge plate corals and shellfish was raised. Exposed to the air since 5 million years, the rain, with its work of erosion has carved the rest.
Among the wonders there are 6 species of lemurs, reptiles and 53 varieties of birds. It is also home to one of the smallest species of chameleon, the Brookesia Perarmata.
Accompanied by guides and porters, this day will be devoted to the discovery of the site of the most astonishing. Lunch is picnic at night in tents.

D 8. Monday Bekopaka - Morondava (200 km + / - 7)
We take the road south to find the Tsiribihina. Crossing the river with the tray. Route to Morondava, stop on the famous avenue of baobab (andansonia grandidieri).

D 9. Tuesday Morondava - Manja (259 km + / - 9)
Long day stage. The road may be poor and sandy side Manja.
Some villages along the road. Picnic en route.
Landscape of wooded savanna recalling Africa. Night under tent.

D 10. Wednesday Manja - Ifaty (200 km + / - 8)
Still on track to reach the village of Ifaty.
Passage of the tray to Mangoky Bevoay.
We pick niquons started. Installation in bungalows by the sea

D 11. Thursday Ifaty
Free day by the sea Ifaty is the most beautiful lagoon in Madagascar!
Our time will be shared between the beach, swimming, riding in canoes, meetings.

D 12. Friday Tuléar - Ranohira (280 km + / - 6h)
Early morning road to Tulear for purchases at the market. Some free time in town for customers. Picnic en route. Visit the amazing Mahafaly tombs.
Check-in Ranohira, making contact with the carriers for hiking in the park of Isalo.
Dinner and overnight in bivouac around the park.

D 13 & 14. Saturday and Sunday National Park of Isalo
Hiking in the park (5 / 6 hours walking per day). The walk is not difficult and can be addressed by all.
J 13: Across the great plain of Ranohira up the cliff, and then hiking dry forest to meet the lemurs (lemur catta and propithèque of Verreaux), walks in the canyons.
Camping in the canyon near mango monkeys.
Day 14: walk to the pool via the cliff (about 6 hours of walking), lunch on a picnic at the pool. Free afternoon, swimming, rest, then return to the village.
ISALO night at the ranch (or equivalent) a very nice small hotel in the bush

D 15. Monday Ranohira - Fianarantsoa (290 km + / - 6h)
DepartURE Ranohira north. Crossing the plateau Horombe.
Lunch in a small local restaurant en route. Visit the craft paper to Antemoro Ambalavao. Check-in Fianarantsoa, our hotel is 25 km from Fianarantsoa in the middle of tea plantations on the edge of Lake Sahambavy. Dinner and overnight at hotel SOAFIA (or equivalent)

D 16. Tuesday Fianarantsoa - Antsirabe (250 km + / - 5h)
Through the high plateaux of the Betsileo country, the villages and moved among hills and rice fields, road Ambositra where we visit the shops carvings Zafimaniry artisans. Continuation to Antsirabe. Dinner and overnight at the residence CAMELIA (or equivalent)

D 17. Wednesday Antsirabe - Antananarivo (170 km + / - 3h)

Way to Tana. Along the mass of Ankaratra. Typical highlands: rice fields, hills, forests and eucalyptus trees.

D 18. Thursday Antananarivo - Périnet National Park (150 km + / - 3h)
Depart Tana morning. Visit the butterfly farm at the foot of the cliff Mandrake. Many butterflies, chameleons, lizards and amphibians. Arrival at the gates of Andasibe National Park Périnet late afternoon. Dinner and overnight at the hotel FEON'NYALA (or equivalent).

D 19. Friday Périnet - Tamatave (210 km + /-5h)
Visit Périnet Park. The main attraction of this park is the presence of Indri indri-the largest of the lemurs. We also seek the lemur rubriventer the Propithecus diadema, the varicia varegata.
The site is very rich in medicinal plants.
Lunch at a local restaurant. By road Ravinala (Traveler's Tree) we arrive in the afternoon in Tamatave. Dinner and overnight at the hotel JOFFRE (or equivalent)

D 20. Saturday Tamatave - Soanierana Ivongo - Ste Marie
We continue our ascent to the north. Crossing the small towns and Foulpointe Mahambo for us right in front of St. Mary in the village of Soanierana Ivongo. Here we take a speedboat to get to 1 hour Ambodifotatra, the "capital" of St. Mary. Transfer by car and by boat to the hotel south of the island. Installation in small bungalows by the sea

Free days at St. Mary. If you wish, you can rent a boat for a "whaleswatching, visit the humpback whales that pass this season (from July to late September) for the birth.
